Tours Sign, Great Hall
Free with Museum admission

An introduction to 5,000 years of Chinese art, including the arts of ancient China, the painting collection, and the Chinese Garden Court.

This tour features a chronological survey of the Metropolitan's rare Chinese jades, bronzes, ceramics, sculpture, decorative arts, and paintings dating from the Neolithic period to the 21st century. Special attention is given to the painting galleries, which are rotated twice a year, and to the Astor Court, a 16th-century-style Ming garden created especially for the Metropolitan Museum.
